Susan LeFebour

This is Susan’s second time telling at our July festival. She has also told at our other smaller community storytelling events. She has the flair of taking on a character in her story, a skill that proved very popular when she brought us the story of the Doctors Arthur two years ago. This year she will again take on the persona of a member of an historical Nelson family. Susan’s usual medium of expression is metal as an accomplished goldsmith and jewellery designer and teacher at the Kootenay School of the Arts. Susan lives with her family at Sunshine Bay.

The Illustrious Hotel Phair

The Kootenays have seen many fine hotels and many of them have been in Nelson. Come listen to the story of the luxurious Hotel Phair and the family who created her. There are some extremely prominent names and events from centuries of North American history that are connected to the Hotel Phair. Who and what they were must remain a surprise until festival time, but you will not be disappointed. The Kootenay Storytelling festival would again like to thank local historian Patricia Rogers for again writing Susan’s story.
