Lucas Myers

The recent smash hit, The Drawer Boy, at the Capitol Theatre with Richard Rowberry, Michael Graham and Lucas Myers, caused the festival to get in touch with Lucas and add him to our roster of local stage talent. Lucas has appeared in many productions in major theatres across Canada as well as touring internationally to Europe, New Zealand, Mexico, Central Asia, and Silverton.  He has been involved in the creation of many new plays as a performer, director, writer and composer with TheatreSKAM, an independent theatre company based in Victoria. He has also written and performed his own one-person shows EAST, DRESS, and THE AMAZING AND IMPERMEABLE CROMOLI BROTHERS PRESENT.  He is currently living in Nelson with Krista and raising his daughter Frances and trying to discover creative ways to pay a mortgage.

Lawrence and the Many Deeds

Lucas Myers will be presenting a recent history of The Kootenays…his own.  Based very loosely on his own experience in moving to the Kootenays, Lawrence and the Many Deeds tells the story of Lawrence the lovelorn troubadour who arrives from the East and falls in love.  However, he must pass the tests set by the father of his beloved to prove that he can defeat the mighty dragon, The Great Mortgage.  Will he be able to keep a Real Job?  Will he be able to plant 10, 000 trees? Featuring original songs such as “We Have Come Here From Toronto” and talking treeplanting shovels, this is a tall tale not to be missed!
